PM Kisan Yojana Big Update: 22nd Installment Coming in February 2026, Aadhaar & e-KYC Mandatory

PM Kisan Yojana

PM Kisan: The beginning of 2026 is bringing significant economic strength for the country’s millions of farmers. The wait for the 22nd installment of the central government’s most ambitious scheme, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), is about to end. The next installment of the annual financial assistance of ₹6,000, which the government provides to small and marginal farmers to help with farming expenses, is scheduled to arrive in bank accounts in February.

PM Kisan 22nd Installment

The 21st installment of the PM Kisan Yojana was transferred to farmers’ accounts at a rapid pace in November 2025. As per the rules, the government releases an installment of ₹2,000 every four months. Based on official sources and the regularity of the scheme, it is estimated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will transfer the 22nd installment to the accounts of millions of farmers by pressing a remote button in the first or second week of February 2026.

While the exact date has yet to be formally announced by the government, farmers should be prepared to ensure that there are no disruptions in the fund transfer (DBT). This amount typically provides a significant financial cushion for farmers during the Rabi harvest season.

Process to Check Your Name on the List

Whether you are a former beneficiary or have recently registered, it is wise to check your name on the list before your installment arrives.

  • First, visit the official PM Kisan website, pmkisan.gov.in.
  • Click on the ‘Beneficiary List’ option under ‘Farmers Corner’ on the home page.
  • On the new page, select your state, district, sub-district, block, and village.
  • After filling in all the information, click the ‘Get Report’ button.
  • The complete list of your village will open, where you can see your name clearly.

E-KYC is mandatory

The government has made it clear that farmers who do not complete their e-KYC will not receive the benefits of the 22nd installment. This process has been made mandatory to prevent fraud and ensure that funds reach only eligible farmers. You can complete e-KYC in two simple ways. The first is to visit the PM Kisan portal and complete it yourself using your Aadhaar OTP. The second is to visit your nearest Common Service Center (CSC) and provide your KYC with a biometric thumbprint.

Bank Account and Aadhaar Linking

PM Kisan funds are credited directly to your bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). For this, certain strict conditions must be met. First, the farmer’s bank account must be active. Second, it is mandatory to link the bank account to the Aadhaar card and keep the DBT option enabled. It is often observed that installments are delayed due to problems with Aadhaar seeding. If your Aadhaar seeding status shows “No,” visit your bank branch immediately and get it corrected; otherwise, your installment may be delayed.
