In an office memorandum, the Finance Ministry on August 22, 2025, said, “In view of the ‘Ganapati’ festival, the government has decided that the salary for the month of August 2025 of all Central Government employees in the State of Maharashtra may be drawn and distributed by the Central Government Offices (including Defence, Post and Telecom) on August 26, 2025 (Tuesday).”
When will central government employees in Kerala receive their salaries?
The central government said it will release the August 2025 salary of all central government employees in Kerala, including defence, post and telecom, in advance on Monday, August 25, 2025, ahead of the Onam festival.
According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar, Onam will be celebrated on September 4 and 5 in 2025. In an office memorandum dated August 21, 2025, the Finance Ministry said, “In view of the ‘Onam’ festival, the Government has decided that the salaries/wages/pensions of all Central Government employees in the State of Kerala may be drawn and disbursed by the Central Government Offices (including Defence, Post and Telecom) on 25-08-2025 (Monday).”
Further, salary, wages and pension disbursements will be treated as advance payments, the ministry said in the statement. “The salary/wages/pension so distributed shall be treated as advance payments and shall be subject to adjustment after determination of salary/wages/pension for a full month of each employee/pensioner. Adjustment, if any, shall be made with the salary/wages/pension of August/September 2025 without any exception,” the finance ministry said in the memorandum.
