LPG Cylinder Price: LPG cylinder rates are typically updated at the beginning of each month. However, there may be instances where rates fluctuate multiple times within a single month, as observed with two rate increases in March this year. The pressing question now is whether LPG cylinder prices will see relief or a disaster on July 1st.

This concern is at the forefront for LPG consumers, particularly those using 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders. Recent data from Indian Oil’s website reveals a significant spike in the price of a 19-kg blue LPG cylinder over the past six months, soaring from Rs 1,580.50 to Rs 3,113.50. This marks an increase of Rs 1,533, leading to supply disruptions.

The repercussions of these price hikes have been felt across the board, with menus at restaurants being trimmed, and the cost of food and beverages escalating. This economic strain even forced many food establishments to shutter their operations. Nevertheless, the government has now lifted the restrictions on commercial cylinder supply.

To recap the price fluctuations this year

– The cost of a commercial cylinder in Delhi stood at Rs 1,580.50 on December 1, 2025, and rose to Rs 1,691.50 in January 2026, followed by Rs 1,740.50 in February. Despite the geopolitical tensions in late February, the price increased by just Rs 28 on March 1, reaching Rs 1,768.50.
– Subsequently, a substantial increase of Rs 114.50 on March 7 pushed the price to Rs 1,883 in Delhi. By April 1, 2026, the price had further climbed to Rs 2,078.50.

– The escalation continued with a historic Rs 993 surge in May, taking the price in Delhi to Rs 3,071.50. There was no respite on June 1st, as prices rose by Rs 42, settling at Rs 3,113.50 for a 19-kg cylinder in Delhi, a rate that remains unchanged as of June 30, 2026.

In addition to commercial cylinders, domestic cylinder prices also faced inflationary pressures after nearly a year. By June 7, 2026, the price had risen by Rs 89 this year, with incremental increases of Rs 60 on March 7 and Rs 29 on June 7, raising the price from Rs 853 to Rs 913 in Delhi.

Will the cylinder be expensive or cheap on July 1, 2026?

It’s difficult to say whether LPG cylinder prices will rise or fall on July 1st. The only relief is that peace talks are underway between Iran and the United States. The ceasefire is in place, and crude oil prices have fallen from $126 per barrel to $72-73. Therefore, the chances of gas prices rising are slim, but some relief can be expected. Just wait until July 1st.
