Vande Bharat Sleeper: The second Vande Bharat sleeper train service in the country is ready for launch. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new sleeper Vande Bharat Express train service, named ‘Sant Ravidas Express’, on July 17, connecting Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh to Amritsar (Chherta) in Punjab. The inauguration will take place via video conferencing from Jalandhar, where the new railway station will also be inaugurated on the same day. Indian Railways has released the timetable for the train ahead of its launch.
Key points about the Sant Ravidas Express:
– The train will operate three days a week under train numbers 14624 and 14623.
– Departure schedule:
– Train No. 14624 (Chheharta to Varanasi): Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 2:05 pm.
– Train No. 14623 (Varanasi to Chheharta): Thursdays, Saturdays, and Mondays at 7:05 pm.
Train timings:
– Departure from Chheharta to Varanasi: Departs at 2:05 PM, stops at Amritsar at 2:25 PM, Lucknow at 7:30 AM the next day, and reaches Varanasi at 12:15 PM.
– Varanasi to Chheharta timings: Departs Varanasi at 7:05 PM, stops at Lucknow at 12:10 AM, Amritsar at 4:35 PM the next day, and reaches Chheharta at 5:10 PM.
Stoppages during the journey:
The train will make stops at various stations including Jaunpur City, Sultanpur, Lucknow, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar City, and Amritsar. The primary maintenance for this Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will be carried out at Chheharta station. The launch of this new service is expected to enhance rail connectivity between Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, benefiting religious tourism, business travel, and family reunions between the two states.
