UP TET Exam 2026 Guidelines: Important news has emerged for candidates applying for the UP TET exam. The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test is scheduled to begin on July 2, 2026. The exam will be conducted in two shifts. Paper 1 will run from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM. The exam will be held across 955 centres in 60 districts from July 2 to July 4, with approximately 20 lakh (2 million) candidates participating. Candidates should familiarise themselves with the UP TET exam guidelines to avoid any issues upon reaching the exam centre. Here is what you should and should not carry to the UP TET exam.
Original Valid Photo ID Proof
Along with your UP TET admit card, make sure to carry an original, valid photo ID. You can carry an Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving license, or voter ID card. Please note that the ID proof must be the original document; photocopies will not be accepted. The name and details on the identity card must match those on the admit card.
UP TET Exam 2026 Timing
The UP TET exam will be conducted on July 2, 3, and 4, 2026. The exam on July 2 is about to commence. The first shift of the exam will run from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM. The exam centre gates will close exactly 45 minutes before the exam begins. Candidates for the first shift must arrive by 8:45 AM. Meanwhile, for the second shift, the exam centre gates will close at 1:45 PM.
What to Carry During UP TET Exam 2026?
Make sure to carry a printout of your admit card.
Carry an original, valid photo ID proof such as an Aadhaar card, PAN card, voter ID, driving license, or passport.
If a photograph is required, ensure you carry a recent passport-sized photograph. A transparent water bottle, provided the exam rules permit it.
Try to arrive at least 30 to 60 minutes before the exam begins.
What Not to Carry to the UP TET Exam?
Do not carry mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, or any other electronic devices to the exam centre.
Carrying calculators, digital watches, earphones, or other communication devices is not permitted.
Do not carry books, notes, papers, written matter, or any study material.
Special Arrangements at Railway Stations
To ensure smooth traffic flow, the Deputy Commissioner of Police has deployed special police forces around railway stations, bus stations, metro stations, taxi stands, and exam centres.
1.85 Lakh Teachers to Take the Exam
The State TET exam in UP has commenced today and will continue until July 4. More than 20 lakh candidates have applied for this exam, including 1.85 lakh teachers.
