Upcoming Cars in India: The festive season is set to make the Indian car market buzz with activity. This time, consumers will have a wide range of options across various segments rather than just one or two new models. Brands like Hyundai, Tata, Toyota, Mahindra, Honda, and Renault are preparing to launch new products or updated models during September and October 2026. The 2026 festive season will see the arrival of numerous new cars and facelifts, including SUVs, EVs, sedans, MPVs, and CNG models.
Hyundai Bayon
The Hyundai Bayon is expected to launch in India around the festive season. It is likely to be positioned between the Venue and the Creta in the company’s lineup. Recent teasers have revealed sharp LED lights, uniquely designed alloy wheels, and a distinctive rear profile. It is expected to feature a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, with reports suggesting that a CNG option is also in the works.
Tata Safari EV
The Tata Safari EV is expected to launch during the 2026 festive season. It will be Tata’s first three-row electric SUV and will be built on the Acti.EV+ architecture, similar to the Harrier EV. It is likely to offer the same 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery pack options as the Harrier EV, and an AWD version could also be part of the lineup. While the Safari EV is expected to retain the basic shape and spacious three-row cabin of the current Safari, it will likely feature EV-specific exterior design changes and enhanced technology within the cabin.
New Toyota Glanza
The Toyota Glanza facelift is set to be unveiled on October 14, 2026. This updated model may incorporate several design and feature changes seen in the Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift. The most significant update could be a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine. As the Glanza is already a popular hatchback for Toyota, the facelift aims to give it a fresher look for the festive season. Mahindra Thar Facelift
The three-door Mahindra Thar facelift is set to launch on September 22, 2026. Mahindra has already released teasers showcasing its updated front end. Along with a revised front design, the new Thar is expected to feature upgrades to the cabin and equipment. The new model aims to offer a more modern and updated feel, even though the core formula of the Thar will remain unchanged. Honda Elevate Facelift

A turbo-petrol version of the Renault Triber is expected to arrive by the end of September 2026. It may utilise the 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine from the Kiger, delivering approximately 100 hp. Additionally, a factory-fitted CNG version is expected to be introduced, potentially featuring dual-cylinder technology.
