The NTA has issued travel advisories and exam guidelines for students appearing for the exam. Candidates should review and follow the NTA guidelines to ensure a smooth exam day. Let us look at the details in this article.

Know the Travel Guidelines

The NTA’s travel guidelines are outlined in four steps. Use this information to plan your schedule for exam day.
First, check your exam centre location.
Check for any applicable travel restrictions.
Students should allow extra time to reach the exam centre.
Arriving early is beneficial.
You must carry your admit card and an identity proof; keep them safe and ready.

Mandatory Items

All students appearing for the UGC NET exam must carry their admit card and a valid identity proof—such as an Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID card, passport, or driving license. If you arrive at the exam centre without your admit card and identity proof, you will not be allowed to take the exam.

The UGC-NET re-examination will be conducted on September 9 and 10, 2026. On the first day, the exam will be held in two shifts: the English paper will take place in the first shift on September 9, while the Commerce paper will be held in the second shift. Additionally, the Sociology exam will be conducted solely during the morning shift on September 10. The first shift runs from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and the second shift exam will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
