Powertrain, Launch Details
MG VS is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol hybrid powertrain that produces a combined power of 177 bhp paired with an e-CVT transmission. The technology is similar to the Maruti Grand Vitara Hybrid and Toyota Hydra Hybrid.
Company’s plan?
The design of the new generation MG Astor was recently launched and sees significant changes compared to the current model. Now, it remains to be seen whether MG will produce a VS-like mid-life facelift for the Astor in India, which the company could sell ahead of the arrival of the new model in a few years. MG is expected to develop a hybrid powertrain for the Astor in India, and the mid-size SUV is expected to be updated as part of the company’s eight products to be launched in India between 2025 and 2028. We will also introduce the new Gloster and Cloud EV in China this year.
