New Generation Maruti Suzuki Swift Design: Maruti Suzuki is working on a strategy to expand its product lineup by introducing a new range of SUVs, MPVs and EVs in the coming years. Apart from this, the company plans to update some of its existing models this year, which include Swift and WagonR hatchbacks and Desire compact sedan. While the WagonR will get a mid-life update, the next generation models of Swift and DZire will be launched in the market. The official launch timeline of these upcoming Maruti Suzuki cars has not been revealed yet. But the 2024 Maruti Swift and DZire may go on sale in the coming months.

Powertrain

The new Suzuki Swift is already becoming increasingly popular in the Japanese market. Key improvements found in the new Swift include the company’s new 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine equipped with 48V self-charging hybrid technology.

This engine produces torque of 108Nm and power of 82bhp.CVT automatic gearbox has been provided for transmission. This gasoline engine is also available without hybrid technology. With and without the hybrid setup, the Swift is capable of returning a mileage of 24.5kmpl and 23.4kmpl respectively.

Features

ADAS technology is seen in Japanese models. Its interior is inspired by the new Frontex compact crossover. It includes a 9-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Other updates include a semi-digital instrument cluster, a redesigned multifunctional steering wheel, and new HVAC controls.

Design

Several major cosmetic updates have been made to the hatchback. The 2024 Maruti Swift gets a front grille with a new gloss black surround, L-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and an updated front bumper with gloss black and brush silver contrasting trims. Additionally, it featured design elements such as a new clamshell bonnet, wide bottom stance, a sharp shoulder line from the bonnet to the rear fenders and conventional door handles on the rear doors. It also gets wraparound effect glasshouse, blacked-out C-pillar, square tailgate with C-shaped LED elements, dual-tone rear bumper and reflectors and hexagonal indents for the license plate. The new Maruti Swift is 15 mm longer, 30 mm taller and 40 mm wider than its previous model.
