Kia Syros Micro SUV: Kia is preparing a new micro SUV, which is undergoing testing, which has been seen several times with a cover. Earlier the final product was expected to be called ‘Kia Clavis’. However, a recent trademark filing suggests that ‘Kia Ciros’ could be the official name of this upcoming micro SUV. It will compete with rivals like Tata Punch, Hyundai Xcent and Maruti Suzuki Swift and is expected to be around 3.8 meters long, making it the smallest and most affordable SUV from Kia in India.

The spy images reveal that the new Kia Ciros will have an upright stance with high ground clearance. It will get vertical LED headlamps and tail lamps, roof rails, thick body cladding and large glass windows with distinct curves. These design elements add to its SUV appeal.

Features

Although it is too early to speculate about the interior and features, there are expectations that the Kia Ciros may offer a dual-screen setup that will serve as the infotainment system and instrument cluster. Special features like leatherette upholstery, ventilated front seats, Bose audio system, panoramic sunroof and 360-degree camera can be found in high trim. There are expectations that the new Kia micro SUV may also be equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). In terms of safety, it can get 6 airbags, rear disc brake, ABS and tire pressure monitoring system.

Powertrain

The new Kia Ciros is expected to have both petrol and electric powertrains. The electric version is expected to arrive later. The micro SUV will come with a front-wheel-drive (FWD) system as standard.

Launch and price

The new Kia micro SUV is expected to be introduced in India in late 2024, while it will be launched in the market in early 2025. Given its compact size and high localization, it is likely to be priced slightly higher than the Kia Sonet, but it is still likely to be quite competitive in its segment.
