Flopped Cars in India: Every year many new cars are launched in the Indian market and if a product is good then people buy it immediately. However, sometimes due to some reasons even good cars flop in the country. So let us know today which good cars have flopped in India.

Maruti Kizashi

When Maruti launched the Kizashi in India in 2011, it was way ahead of its time. It was a good car, but failed for many reasons. The biggest reason was that Maruti had imported it as a CBU model, due to which it had to pay heavy taxes. Its price was around Rs 16 lakh, which was quite expensive at that time. Moreover, Maruti was never seen as a premium brand, hence people preferred other brands instead of spending so much money for a car. The absence of a diesel engine at that time was also a major drawback.

Toyota Yaris

Toyota Yaris; Ciaz competed with cars like Verna. However, it was never successful in sales. As a product, the Yaris was a very powerful car with a good design, lots of features and an automatic gearbox option. However, it failed due to its high price and no diesel engine. Toyota still sells the new generation Yaris outside India, but it is unlikely to make a comeback in the country.

Skoda Octavia Combi

Estate cars never gained popularity in India and the Octavia Combi was an example of this. Skoda launched the Octavia Combi in 2002, but it was discontinued due to low sales. The Octavia Combi was blessed with many features including its European design, super practicality and great performance.

Skoda Yeti

Skoda Yeti came with a new design in the SUV segment, whose European design and German quality was like no other SUV at that time. It came with a 2.0-litre engine with 4×2 and 4×4 capabilities. The price of Yeti was very close to Toyota Fortuner, so it did not sell much. Skoda later replaced the Yeti with the Kodiaq in all its markets.

Tata hexa

The Hexa was another SUV that was ahead of its time. It was replaced by Ariya, which flopped miserably. However, those who have driven the Hexa highly appreciate its handling capability and comfort. Hexa sales suffered a major decline due to competitors like Mahindra XUV500 and Toyota Innova Crysta. At that time Tata’s brand image was far behind Mahindra and Toyota.
