Bajaj Pulsar NS400: We were the first to report last year that Bajaj is working on the biggest Pulsar yet – the Pulsar NS400 – and now we can confirm that the bike will launch on May 3.

  1. The old but still powerful 373cc engine will be used here.
  2. It will probably get LCD dash and updated NS family styling

Bajaj Pulsar NS400: What we know so far

The Bajaj Dominar 400, KTM RC 390 and 390 Adventure still use the old 373cc single-cylinder engine that produces anywhere between 40-43.5hp depending on the bike.

It remains to be seen whether the NS400 makes the same amount of power as the Dominar (40hp) or whether it makes a full-fat 43.5hp (like the KTM). The NS400 will continue with the same 6-speed gearbox with slip-and-assist clutch, but it remains to be seen whether a quickshifter will be offered.

The new Bajaj Pulsar NS400 will likely use the perimeter chassis from the NS200, which has always been able to handle more power than the 200’s 25hp.

The chassis will likely be strengthened and adapted for duty with the larger 373cc engine. This will have a positive impact on weight and the new Pulsar NS400 is likely to weigh less than the 193 kg Dominar.

Design-wise, it remains to be seen how much changes will be made, but it’s safe to expect a similar look to the existing NS family, which was recently refreshed. We also expect the USD fork and LCD dash to continue along with Bluetooth connectivity.

We expect the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar NS400 to be positioned below the Dominar 400, which is currently priced at Rs 2.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This will make it the most affordable 40hp, 400cc bike available on sale in India.
