Train Cancelled: Getting ready for operations on a brand new rail bridge running alongside the Rajendra Bridge in Mokama, Bihar, has picked up pace. To link this fresh double-line bridge, the Railways is handling major non-interlocking work through October 4th. Around 384 trains have been rerouted and quite a few others cancelled on this line, as shared by DRM Danapur.
Track setup, pre-non-interlocking, and non-interlocking activities are happening between Mokama, Hathidah, Rampur Dumra, Tal Junction, and Dinkar Gram Simaria stations. Everyday trains should get back on track with the new double-line bridge starting October 5th. This huge block has touched more than 800 train services. At roughly 22 to 33 trains daily, over 338 trains have been cancelled up to now.
120 trains ended or rerouted before reaching their destination
Indian Railways has rerouted roughly 384 trains. More than 120 trains are being rerouted by either stopping early or going through different stations. Far-reaching and key express trains that normally went through Mokama-Hathidih to Barauni and Samastipur in North Bihar are now taking different paths like Patna–Patliputra–Digha Bridge (JP Setu), Sonpur–Hajipur, or Kiul–Jhajha–Bhagalpur. Several trains, like the Amritsar–Howrah Mail, Bagh Express, Vibhuti Express, and Amarnath Express, have been rerouted. With the festive season of Diwali, Chhath Puja, and Durga Puja coming up, the Danapur Division will run special trains from Patna, Barauni, and Danapur heading to Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Amritsar.
New Rajendra Bridge opening from October 5
Dimpy Garg, General Manager of East Central Railway, looked over railway readiness in the Danapur and Sonpur divisions. The new rail bridge project covers 15.5 km. A fresh rail bridge has been built roughly 50 meters away on the Patna side. A double rail line has been set up for this project. It features a two-kilometer-long main bridge crossing the Ganga River, with 17 steel spans and 3.6 km of rail viaducts and major bridges.
Eight smaller bridges, two road overbridges, and three rail overbridges are also included. Both ends of the new bridge will connect to the same stations as the existing bridge: Hathidah, Tal, and Rampur Dumra, and to the south, to Rajendra Bridge and Barauni stations.

More than 10 districts of Bihar affected
The Rajendra Bridge work has affected several trains originating from Patna Junction and Rajendranagar Terminal on the Patna, Mokama, Barh, and Bakhtiyarpur routes. The connection between Begusarai and Simaria, across the Ganges, and Begusarai and Barauni Junctions has been completely disrupted via Mokama. The Lakhisarai and Mokama-Kiul rail sections have been affected by the cancellation of several local and passenger trains. Trains to major divisions and junctions in Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, and Darbhanga have been diverted or canceled. Passengers are affected by the cancellation of the Saharsa-Rajendranagar Intercity, a crucial service for Saharsa, Khagaria, and Madhepura. Express trains to Jaynagar and Sitamarhi in Mithila have been directly affected.
