Toll Tax: Drivers using the new 31-kilometer Greenfield Expressway, which is being developed to link the industrial hub of Faridabad with Noida International Airport, will soon need to pay tolls. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is currently building a toll plaza in Mohana village, Faridabad, with plans to finish it within the next two months. Once both the toll plaza and expressway are finished, toll collection will start.
Toll tax will be imposed on the Greenfield Expressway
This Greenfield Expressway connects the new international airport in Jewar to Faridabad and stretches for 31 kilometers total. About 24 kilometers of the route is in Haryana, while the remaining 7 kilometers are in Uttar Pradesh. The expressway starts in Sector 65, Faridabad, crosses over the Yamuna River, and moves into Uttar Pradesh through Palwal.
Toll collection at Mohana Interchange
A new interchange is being built near Mohana village to link the Greenfield Expressway with the KGP Expressway. Drivers who enter or leave the expressway at this interchange will pay a toll at the Mohana toll plaza. That said, NHAI hasn’t yet shared the specific toll amounts or when tolls will actually begin.
Vehicle speeds will be monitored
To keep travel safe, the expressway has been equipped with streetlights, road markings, and signboards. NHAI has also set speed restrictions, allowing small vehicles like cars to go up to 100 kilometers per hour and limiting heavy and large vehicles to 80 kilometers per hour. Speed monitoring systems are positioned throughout the expressway to track vehicle speeds.
Irrigation will be done through automatic system
To maintain the green belt being developed on the expressway divider, a state-of-the-art irrigation system has been developed. Special pipelines and sprinklers have been installed to regularly water the plants. NHAI Project Director Dheeraj Singh stated that work on the Mohana Interchange is progressing rapidly, and this sprinkler system will ensure long-term maintenance of the plants without any additional hassle.
