Ladli Behna Yojana: Great news for the millions of sisters benefiting from the Chief Minister Ladli Behna Yojana! The 23rd installment of the program is set to be released next week. However, this time, 11,000 women from Satna and Maihar will miss out on the benefits due to their age. The rules state that women must be between 23 and 60 years old to qualify for the scheme.
Currently, around 378,000 women in Satna and Maihar are receiving benefits, but 9,000 of them have surpassed the age limit of 60, leading to their automatic removal from the MP government’s portal. Additionally, about 2,000 women have also stopped receiving benefits for similar reasons. This isn’t the first instance of names being removed due to age restrictions.
As for the 23rd installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana, it typically gets released on the 10th of each month. However, the state government sometimes issues payments earlier due to festivals or special occasions. With upcoming festivals in April, there’s a chance that the 23rd installment could be released ahead of schedule, though we’re still waiting for official confirmation. Last year, for example, the 10th installment was released on March 1 for Mahashivratri, the 11th on April 5 for Chaitra Navratri and Gudi Padwa, the 12th on May 4, and the 17th on October 5 for Diwali.
Under the Ladli Behna Yojana, participants receive Rs 1,250 each month. This initiative was launched in May 2023 by the previous Shivraj Singh Chouhan government, aiming to empower women in Madhya Pradesh economically and enhance their quality of life. The program initially promised Rs 1,000 to married women aged 21 to 60, with the first installment disbursed on June 10.
Following this, the amount was raised to Rs 1250 for Rakshabandhan 2023. Now, through this initiative, women receive Rs 15,000 each year, distributed as Rs 1250 monthly. A total of 22 monthly payments have been sent to the Ladli sisters from June 2023 to March 2025. Additionally, a special financial aid of Rs 250 was provided to the eligible women in August 2023 and 2024, making it twice in total.
