Chandigarh Wasting Water Fine: The new financial year is starting, due to which many important changes will be seen. These changes will have a direct impact on the pocket of the common man. In this episode, if we talk about City Beautiful Chandigarh, the rate of water has increased. Soon, property tax will also increase and the new DC rate will also be implemented. However, the notification will be issued at the end of the month.
Increase in water price
Water price has increased by 5% in Chandigarh from today and this increase will be visible in the next billing cycle. The corporation officials have made such a system that every year the prices increase by 5% without any approval. Garbage charges will also increase along with water.

Penalty for wasting water
Chandigarh Municipal Corporation team will also impose penalty on those who waste water. Anyone who is caught using drinking water to wash cars or verandas will be fined on the spot. The fine amount will be Rs. 5,788 and the corporation will add it to the water bill and send it.
Getting fire safety certificate becomes expensive
Lodging houses, hostels, hotels etc. in the category of Group-A (residential building) will have to pay a fee of Rs. 6615 or Rs. 14 per square meter. However, private residences (A-2) and apartments (A-4) of 1 or 2 families are exempted from this fee.
From schools to higher education institutions in the category of Group-B (educational institutions), hospitals, mental health centers in Group-C and all buildings in Group-D will have to pay a fee of Rs 6615 or Rs 14 per square meter.
New DC rate implemented
New DC rate comes into effect in Chandigarh from April 1 every year. In this, the salary of employees of different categories increases. Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav said that its notification will be issued by the end of this month.
New Excise Policy implemented
New Excise Policy will come into effect in Chandigarh from today i.e. April 1. However, due to allegations of irregularities in the auction of contracts, the matter of the new excise policy has reached the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Many changes have been made in the new policy. It has been decided not to increase the prices of liquor.
