Syed Abid Ali Death: Former Indian all-rounder Syed Abid Ali died in the US on Wednesday at the age of 83. Abid Ali played 29 Test matches for India, in which he took 47 wickets. This talented cricketer from Hyderabad had excellent fielding and excellent running.

He performed brilliantly in his debut Test match, which was played against Australia in Brisbane, in which he took 6 wickets for 55 runs. Abid Ali scored two brilliant half-centuries (78 and 81) in the same series in Sydney. He is also known for scoring the winning runs in a famous win against England at the Oval in 1971.
Have done coaching of UAE
Apart from India, Syed Abid Ali played first-class cricket for Hyderabad and South Zone for 22 years and also coached since 1978. He had great coaching experience, due to which the UAE Cricket Board approached him in 2001. Ali always believed in taking weak teams to the top level. . He had already done this with the Andhra Pradesh team. Because of this thinking, he accepted the UAE offer.
Former Indian players expressed grief
This legendary cricketer from Hyderabad was also known as ‘Chiccha’. Syed Abid Ali coached the Andhra Ranji team as well as the Maldives and UAE cricket teams. He got his son Fakir Ali married to the daughter of former Indian wicketkeeper Syed Kirmani.
