New Delhi: The Champions Trophy 2025 has concluded with India’s triumph. Under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, Team India defeated New Zealand by 4 wickets in the final. Following this victory, 75-year-old Sunil Gavaskar was seen jumping and dancing like a child in the stadium. While India dominated the tournament, Pakistan, despite being the host nation, was the first team to be eliminated.

Criticizing the current Pakistan team, Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar had remarked that even India’s B team could easily defeat them. This statement has now sparked a strong reaction from former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq.

India’s Dominance Over Pakistan in Champions Trophy 2025

During the group stage, India thrashed Pakistan by 6 wickets. Before that, Pakistan was already on the verge of elimination after losing to New Zealand on their home ground. Sunil Gavaskar had mocked Pakistan, saying,
“Even our B team can beat them with ease. I’m not sure about the C team yet, but the B team will surely register a big win.”

Reacting to this, Inzamam-ul-Haq lashed out at Gavaskar on a TV program, saying:
“India won, they played well, but Gavaskar should check some stats first. Once, he ran away from Sharjah just to avoid playing against Pakistan!”

Further criticizing Gavaskar, Inzamam added:

“You can celebrate your victory as much as you want and praise your team, but making such statements about another team is unfair. Even today, if you check the stats, you’ll see where Pakistan stands. I felt very disappointed. Gavaskar was a great cricketer, a respected figure, but he should not ruin his reputation with such statements. Praise your team all you want, but be careful with your words when talking about another team.”

India Lifts 7th ICC Trophy!

On Sunday, Team India secured its 7th ICC title by defeating New Zealand in the Champions Trophy 2025 final. This was India’s third Champions Trophy victory, further solidifying their dominance in world cricket.
