Team India’s young batsman Tilak Varma hit a shot in the first T20 match against South Africa that sent the ball flying out of the stadium. The umpire had to call for a second ball for the rest of the match. The distance of the six was 89 meters.
Tilak Varma showed his power for a massive 6
The video of Tilak Varma’s massive six is making the rounds on social media. People are praising the strength of Tilak’s hands. India, who lost the toss and came to bat, had a disastrous start. ODI and Test captain Shubman Gill failed to make much of an impact on his return from injury, hitting just one four before being dismissed. This happened in the very first over. Captain Suryakumar Yadav also failed to make much of an impact after that. Surya played a poor shot and easily lost his wicket. He managed only 12 runs off 11 balls.
Explosive batsman Abhishek Sharma was expected to play a big and quick innings, but he too could only score 17 runs. India lost two wickets in the power play and three batsmen were out in the seventh over. Half the team was out at the score of 100. Hardik Pandya, coming in to bat at number six, displayed some amazing shots and rapidly moved the team’s score forward. He shared a 26-run partnership in 14 balls with Axar Patel, and after Axar’s dismissal, he shared a 33-run partnership in 19 balls with Shivam Dubey.

Hardik scored quickly from one end, just waiting for a partner to stand by him at the other end. Returning to the match after a long absence, Hardik completed his half-century and also reached his century of sixes in T20Is. Riding on Hardik’s big innings, India set South Africa a target of 176 runs. Now, the bowlers will have to live up to expectations and restrict South Africa to a low total.
