New Delhi: After winning the Player of the Match award, Virat Kohli said, “This innings was similar to the one I played against Pakistan. It was all about understanding the conditions and rotating the strike, as partnerships were crucial on this pitch.” Kohli showcased his control and composure, accumulating 56 singles and running four doubles during his innings. He further stated, “It all depends on the conditions here. My approach was to stay patient and not rush. The singles I took give me the most satisfaction.”

Kohli emphasized the importance of handling pressure in such high-stakes matches. “This game is all about dealing with pressure. You have to keep your emotions in check. Even when the required run rate was six per over, I remained composed and stuck to my plan,” he added. When asked whether he is in the best phase of his ODI career, Kohli responded, “I don’t know. You decide. I never focus on such things. Achievements come when you don’t think about them. Scoring a century would have been great, but winning the match is more important. At this stage, personal milestones don’t matter to me.”
