He expressed happiness over this meeting, after which he was severely criticized on social media. Hafeez got trolled

After this picture surfaced, many people questioned Hafeez and gave negative reactions to his meeting. He was trolled on social media and many users made sharp comments on his post. Apart from this, Mohammad Hafeez also recently made a statement about former Pakistani cricketers. He said that the players who played in the 1990s could not leave any lasting legacy for Pakistan cricket despite their individual achievements. He stressed that during the era of those cricketers, the team did not achieve success in any major ICC tournament.

Pakistan’s defeat in the World Cup

Referring to Pakistan’s defeat in the 1996, 1999 and 2003 World Cups, Hafeez said that these were occasions when the team should have proved its strength. He especially called the defeat in the 1999 World Cup final a big setback. He further described Pakistan’s defeat in the 2007 T20 World Cup final and then the team’s victory in 2009 under the captaincy of Younis Khan as a turning point. He said that the 2009 victory inspired young cricketers, but after that Pakistan cricket had to face many challenges. Some incidents had a negative impact on the team’s performance, from which the team has not yet fully recovered.
