Indian women’s team’s star batsman Smriti Mandhana created history in the first match of the T20 series against Sri Lanka. In this match, she scored 25 runs in 25 balls. By scoring 18 runs during this innings, she completed 4000 runs in T20 International. She has become the first woman player to score 4000 runs in T20 International. She has also become the second cricketer in the world to score 4000 runs in women’s T20 International. Before Mandhana, only Suzie Bates had achieved this feat.

Smriti played an innings of 25 runs against Sri Lanka with the help of 4 fours in 25 balls. Smriti is the highest run scorer for India in T20 Internationals and she also became the first woman cricketer to touch the 4000 run mark. Smriti has so far scored 4006 runs in 154 matches in T20 Internationals. She is also the second highest run scorer for women in this format after Suzie Bates. Bates has scored 4716 runs in this format.

Smriti Mandhana became the first Indian woman cricketer to score 4000 runs in T20Is, but if we talk about Indian T20I cricket, she became the third player to do so in both men’s and women’s cricket. Before Mandhana, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had crossed the 4000-run mark in T20Is for India. Rohit had scored 4231 runs in his T20I career, while Virat Kohli had scored 4188 runs. Mandhana has now joined Kohli and Rohit on the list. Both Virat and Rohit have retired from T20Is.

Smriti Mandhana is the fastest female batsman to reach 4,000 runs in T20 Internationals, in terms of balls taken. She broke Suzie Bates’ record in this regard. Mandhana had previously reached 4,000 runs in 3,227 balls, while Bates had achieved this feat in 3,675 balls. Mandhana now holds the record.
