Rohit Sharma Fifty: Rohit Sharma completed his half-century in 41 balls against New Zealand in the final match of the Champions Trophy. This is Rohit’s first half-century in the final of an ICC tournament. He adopted an aggressive approach against the Kiwi bowlers right from the beginning. The captain had shown by hitting a six on the second ball of the match that although it is difficult to score runs in Dubai, but no one can stop him today.

Rohit’s bat did not work

Chasing 252 runs, Team India captain Rohit Sharma started the innings with vice-captain Shubman Gill. Gill started cautiously while the captain took the responsibility of scoring runs quickly .Rohit Sharma completed his half-century by taking a run on the first ball of the 11th over bowled by Mitchell Santner. Rohit Sharma hit 5 fours and 3 big sixes in this half-century scored in 41 balls. The entire stadium echoed with noise due to his explosive innings.

India got a target of 252 to win

Earlier, after winning the toss, New Zealand decided to bat first. Rohit Sharma lost the 12th consecutive toss in ODI as captain. After a good start, Team India strengthened its hold in the match as New Zealand’s wickets fell continuously. Daryl Mitchell scored the highest 63 runs for the Kiwi team. Michael Bracewell’s innings of 53 runs helped New Zealand reach a respectable score of 252.

For India, Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav took 2-2 wickets each. Kuldeep took important wickets of Rachin Ravindra (37) and Kane Williamson (11) in the beginning. Mohammad Shami and Ravindra Jadeja took 1-1 wickets each.
