Most Wickets in IPL 2025: The 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) will begin on 22 March 2025 at the historic Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. In the opening match, Kolkata Knight Riders, led by Ajinkya Rahane, will face Royal Challengers Bangalore, captained by Rajat Patidar.

This season, a total of 74 matches will be played. Out of these, 70 matches will be part of the league stage, where each team will play 14 matches.

  • In IPL 2008, the first Purple Cap was won by Pakistan’s left-arm pacer Sohail Tanvir, who took 22 wickets at an average of 12.09 for Rajasthan Royals.
