India vs South Africa ODI Series 2025: After the Test series, the Indian and South African teams are ready to clash in the ODI series. The three-match ODI series is set to begin on Sunday. The first match will be played at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi.
Two of Team India’s legendary batsmen, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, are set to return to action in this series. It is expected that Team India will return to winning ways, but South African captain Temba Bavuma has prepared a special plan for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

South Africa captain Temba Bavuma believes the presence of legends like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will bring a different energy to the field, which will be exciting to be a part of. In a video, Bavuma said, “I think it’s exciting. It’s exciting for the Indian fans. Two legends are coming back. When these two big players are around, it’s exciting for us to be a part of a different energy. It’s something we’re looking forward to.”
Speaking about his plans for these two veterans, Bavuma said, “I think we’ll prepare for them like any other player. Whatever strategy we have, we’ll follow it. We know the energy will be a little different, but it will be exciting. As a captain, I don’t think much will change for my team. I think you obviously want to perform with the bat. You want to lead the players on the field according to the strategy. So, I don’t think much will change.”
It’s worth noting that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli last played an ODI in October 2025, during a three-match ODI series between India and Australia. Both players have retired from Test and T20 Internationals. The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa will be played on November 30 in Ranchi, the second on December 3 in Raipur, and the third on December 6 in Visakhapatnam.
