The Bengal cricket team for the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy has been announced. In this tournament, Bengal will play under the captaincy of Abhimanyu Easwaran. Easwaran has been appointed captain of the Bengal team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Fast bowler Mohammed Shami has also been included in Bengal’s squad. Shami has performed brilliantly in domestic cricket this year, proving his excellent form by taking 36 wickets this season.

Eyes started to shift on the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy

Mohammed Shami has been out of Team India’s squad for a long time. He recently missed any of the ODI, Test, or T20 series against South Africa. He hopes to secure a comeback with a strong performance in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy. Abhimanyu Easwaran, meanwhile, has been part of Team India’s squad for several Test series, but he never got the chance to debut for India.Shami will lead Bengal’s fast bowling attack in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which also includes Akash Deep and Mukesh Kumar. Wicketkeeper-batsman Abhishek Porel is also part of the squad. All-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed has also been included in Bengal’s squad.

Bengal has been placed in Elite Group B for the Vijay Hazare Trophy and will begin their campaign with a match against Vidarbha in Rajkot on December 24. The group also includes teams from Assam, Baroda, Jammu and Kashmir, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh. The tournament will be played in Ahmedabad (Group A), Rajkot (Group B), Jaipur (Group C), and Alur (Group D), while the knockout matches will be played at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru from January 12 to 18.
