The Sunrisers Hyderabad brand has now expanded from the IPL to England. Kavya Maran’s team, which is part of England’s renowned cricket league, The Hundred, will take the field next season with a new name. The 19th season of the Indian Premier League is to be held next year. All the teams are busy preparing for it.

New name for Kavya Maran’s team

Meanwhile, there is big news about Kavya Maran’s team. She has changed the name of her team. This team is not the SRH of IPL, but the team playing in The Hundred, which till today was called Northern Superchargers, but after the name change, it will now be known as Sunrisers Leeds. In the upcoming season to be held next year i.e. in 2026, her team will enter The Hundred tournament with the same name to make a splash.

IPL boss Kavya Maran has now established her presence in England’s The Hundred League. She has renamed the Northern Superchargers franchise to Sunrisers Leeds, the same team that the Sun Group acquired earlier this year for ₹1155 crore.

The Superchargers are a team from the city of Leeds. Following the deal, the Sun Group acquired a full stake in the team, completing the name change. It will now officially be called Sunrisers Leeds. This means that the brand name is consistent across all three regions: Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, Sunrisers Eastern Cape in SA20, and now Sunrisers Leeds in The Hundred. It’s worth noting that the 100-ball tournament in England is known as The Hundred.

Northern Superchargers is the third of the eight teams playing in this league to be renamed. Prior to this, Manchester Originals will be renamed Manchester Super Giants. Now, there’s news that Oval Invincibles will be renamed Mumbai Indians London. All three teams are owned franchises in the IPL.
