The list of players for the mini auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 has been finalized. More than 1,350 players had registered for the IPL auction, but more than 1,000 players have been excluded from the final list, as only 350 players will participate in the auction. These include 25 new players who had not previously registered. The mini auction will be held on December 16 in Abu Dhabi, which the board had already announced.

BCCI made an official statement

Initially, the board released a long list of 1,355 players who had registered for the auction. Later, the BCCI asked IPL teams for names they wanted to see in the auction pool. The final shortlist includes 35 new names that were not part of the initial list, and one of them is surprise entry Quinton de Kock. The South African wicketkeeper-batsman was not in the original list but was later included at the request of some franchises.

He will be available at a base price of ₹1 crore. He was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders last year in the mega auction for ₹2 crore. However, KKR released him before the auction. Other new players include a group of Sri Lankan players, including Travin Mathew, Binura Fernando, Kusal Perera, and Dunith Welalage.
