Starc announced his retirement in September 2025. His focus will now be solely on ODI and Test cricket. Recently, Starc revealed why he has retired only from T20I cricket. Mitchell Starc expressed why decided to left T20I format
Mitchell Starc told Coffee with COGS, “Hopefully, I’ll be able to tour India and England in 2027. That’s probably why I quit T20I cricket. So, yes, that’s the plan. Whether it happens or not, my body will tell me. But I’d definitely like to do it.”
Mitchell Starc is Australia’s premium bowler in Test and ODI cricket. He has proven this by winning Player of the Match awards in the first two matches of the ongoing Ashes Test series against England.
Starc has already taken 18 wickets in the first two Tests of the 2025 Ashes, while no other bowler has yet reached the 10-wicket mark. Starc delivered a career-best performance in the first Test, taking seven wickets in an innings to take his total to 10. He also claimed eight wickets in the second match.
Starc will be looking ahead to the India and England tours as well as the ODI World Cup in 2027. This could certainly be his last ODI World Cup.
