You no longer need to run from pillar to post for this; you can activate the contactless debit card online from the comfort of your home. You can use this card to shop at malls, make online payments, and withdraw cash from ATMs anywhere in the country or abroad. Additionally, the SBI Global Contactless Debit Card comes equipped with an EMV chip for enhanced security.

How the SBI Contactless Debit Card Works

Cardholders simply need to bring the card close to the POS (Point of Sale) machine to make a payment; the amount is automatically deducted from the account. There is no need to swipe the card in the POS machine. According to the bank’s official website, you can make payments of up to ₹5,000 without entering a PIN. Please note that the card will be deactivated if it remains unused for 12 months.
