Samsung is likely to launch a new phone, the Galaxy S26 FE, very soon. According to media reports, the South Korean smartphone company is preparing to launch the Galaxy S26 FE. Even before the official announcement, key specifications of the upcoming Fan Edition smartphone have begun to surface online. It is rumoured that the Galaxy S26 FE might feature the same main rear camera sensor and telephoto sensor as the previous year’s model. It could be powered by the Exynos 2500 chipset. Let’s take a look at the potential features of the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE.
Samsung Galaxy S26 FE Codename Revealed
Android Authority has reported, citing unnamed sources, that the company is working on the Galaxy S26 FE. Its internal codename is “r14.” This codename follows Samsung’s naming convention for previous FE models; the Galaxy S25 FE was codenamed “r13,” while the Galaxy S24 FE was “r12.”
Samsung Galaxy S26 FE Leaked Features
According to leaks, the Galaxy S26 FE might feature the same 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL S5KGN3 primary camera found in the Galaxy S25 FE. This is a 1/1.57-inch sensor featuring a 24mm equivalent focal length, f/1.8 aperture, 1µm pixel size, dual-pixel PDAF, and Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) support. Additionally, it may include the 8-megapixel OmniVision OV08A1 sensor used in the Galaxy S25 FE. This sensor offers 3x optical zoom, an f/2.4 aperture, PDAF, and OIS capabilities. The report claims that the Galaxy S26 FE might use either the 12-megapixel GalaxyCore GC12A2 or the 12-megapixel Sony IMX825 sensor for its ultra-wide and front-facing cameras. The company previously used the GC12A2 as the selfie camera on the Galaxy A37.
Galaxy S26 FE Launch Date
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S26 FE on September 1. It may arrive as a toned-down version of the original Galaxy S26, featuring the Exynos 2500 chipset, Android 17, an IP68-rated build, and 12GB of RAM. It could sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED display. The Galaxy S26 FE is likely to house a 5,000mAh battery supporting 45W wired and 15W wireless charging.
Rumours suggest that the base model of the Galaxy S26 FE, with 128GB of storage, will be priced at approximately EUR 749 (around ₹82,000). It is important to note that Samsung has not yet officially shared any details regarding the launch date, features, or pricing of the Galaxy S26 FE; therefore, relying entirely on rumours would be premature.
