Redmi Note 17 Series: Redmi places great importance on its customers. The company announced on Monday that the Redmi Note 17 series is set to launch very soon. While phones from this Xiaomi sub-brand were previously launched in China, the brand is now preparing to launch the 5G and 4G variants of the Redmi Note 17 series. The series is expected to include three models—the Redmi Note 17, Note 17 Pro, and a new Note 17 Pro Max; several specifications for the latter (the Pro Max) have already surfaced.
Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi Note 17 series in Malaysia on August 18, 2026. This lineup will include a new top-end model, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max. Xiaomi has confirmed via a teaser that the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max will feature a massive 10,000mAh battery.

Xiaomi announced on the social media platform X that the Redmi Note 17 series will launch globally on August 27. A new microsite on Xiaomi’s global website confirms the upcoming launch of the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max model. In terms of design, the lineup will feature photochromic technology.
Redmi Note 17 Series Details
Based on the features of models launched in the Chinese market, the standard Redmi Note 17 is equipped with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset and a 7-inch OLED display. It houses an 8,000mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging. It also features a 50-megapixel main camera and an IP65 rating.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip and features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a 9,000mAh battery. For cameras, it sports a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The phone holds an IP69K rating. As there is currently no official Pro Max model in China, the 10,000mAh model launching in Malaysia could be the first of its kind in the series globally.
Ahead of the launch, the Geekbench listing for the global Redmi Note 17 Pro Max has also surfaced, providing initial details about the phone’s hardware. Xiaomi is expected to reveal the full specifications tomorrow. Further details regarding the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max and other models will emerge following the launch in Malaysia.
According to previous reports, the Redmi Note 17 series could launch in India on September 18 or 20. The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max may feature a 50-megapixel (f/1.8) primary rear camera along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. It may also include a 32-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. It will house a 9,210mAh battery.
