Redmi 17C 5G Launch Date: Redmi is introducing another new 5G phone in the budget smartphone segment. The company has confirmed that the Redmi 17C 5G will launch in India on October 1st. This phone has already been released in global markets, including Singapore, and it has been confirmed that the Indian model will feature the same design and specifications.

With a large 6.9-inch display, a 120 Hz refresh rate, a Dimensity 6300 chipset, and a 6,000 mAh battery, this phone is designed for users who want a big screen and long battery life at an affordable price. The price has not yet been confirmed.

Redmi 17C 5G India Launch Date and Price

The Redmi 17C 5G will launch in India on October 1, 2026. While the company has confirmed the launch date, it has not yet revealed pricing details for the Indian market. In Singapore, the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at SGD 279, which is approximately ₹21,000 in Indian currency.

Design

Regarding its design, the Redmi 17C will retain the same look as the global model. The phone features a flat back panel with slightly rounded corners on the sides. A raised rectangular camera module is located at the top-left, housing a 50MP primary camera and an LED flash.

There is also a secondary circular element positioned below the camera module. The phone comes in Dark Night, Coffee Brew, and Purple Dawn colours. The Coffee Brew variant features a leather-like textured finish, whereas the other two colour options come with a smoother rear finish.

6.9-inch 120 Hz Display

A major highlight of the Redmi 17C is its large 6.9-inch HD+ LCD display. It offers a resolution of 1600×720 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Its screen brightness reaches up to 810 nits, while the touch sampling rate is 240 Hz.

The display includes features like DC dimming and reading mode, and it holds TUV Rheinland Eye-Comfort certifications. A standout feature is ‘Wet Touch Technology 2.0’, which ensures that touch input works even with wet, oily, or soapy fingers.

Performance

Regarding performance, the Redmi 17C is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. It comes with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

The phone runs on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. In terms of software, it is an upgrade over the Redmi 15C, as the older model runs on HyperOS 2 based on Android 15.

Camera and Battery

For photography, there is a 50MP f/1.8 primary camera on the rear, while an 8MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. Both cameras support 1080p and 720p video recording at 30 fps.

As for the battery, the phone’s biggest strength is its 6,000 mAh capacity. It supports 33W charging. Xiaomi claims that the battery can retain at least 80% of its capacity even after 1,000 full charge cycles.

Features

The phone comes with an IP64 rating, providing protection against dust and water splashes. Additional features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio, NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, and a USB Type-C port. The phone can be unlocked using a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
