Ration Card Update: There is a big news for Ration Card holders. The government is continuously working on digital facilities to simplify the rationing process in the country. Recently, the government implemented a feature that eliminates the need for ration card holders to purchase grains from a single ration shop. You can now purchase different grains from any ration shop as per your convenience, meaning you can purchase wheat from one ration shop and rice from another.
The most important aspect of this change is that you will no longer have to face problems like standing in long queues to get rations, not getting your full ration due to a thumbprint not being accepted by the machine, or not getting enough food because the shop doesn’t have enough grain. Now, depending on your needs, you can buy wheat from one shop and rice from another. This information was given by Union Minister of State BL Verma.

What is One Nation One Ration Card Scheme?
Union Minister of State BL Verma stated in his post that the government is working to simplify ration distribution under the One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC) scheme. Through this scheme, ration card holders can collect different portions of their rations from different locations, according to their convenience. This facility can be availed from any part of the country.

#OneNationOneRationCard pic.twitter.com/x0tfXxRbv4

This facility works just like an ATM. Just as you can withdraw money from any ATM as per your need, similarly, you can get your food grains from any corner of the country to get ration.
What are the benefits of ONORC?
The biggest benefit of the One Nation, One Ration Card scheme will be to the families of migrant laborers. Now, they no longer need to be tied to their village ration shop to receive rations; instead, they can access their rations from any state or city in the country using Aadhaar and biometrics.
