PVC Aadhaar Card Fee: Big news for Aadhaar Card holders. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has raised the fee for acquiring an Aadhaar PVC card from Rs 50 to Rs 75, effective January 1, 2026. This decision was prompted by increased expenses related to materials, printing, and secure delivery, as stated by UIDAI.
The Aadhaar PVC card is a plastic card that displays Aadhaar information and is designed to fit conveniently in a wallet, akin to an ATM or debit card, with added durability to prevent quick damage.
What is an Aadhaar PVC Card?
The Aadhaar PVC card is a sturdy and portable version of Aadhaar resembling a credit or debit card. Crafted from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), it is water-resistant and durable, incorporating security features like a secure QR code, holograms, ghost images, and microtext.

The Process to Obtain a PVC Aadhar Card:
To apply, visit the UIDAI website and provide your Aadhaar number and captcha code, then click on Send OTP.
Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile and submit it.
Select ‘Order Aadhaar PVC Card.’
Review your information and click on Next.
Choose a payment method such as Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI, and pay the fee of Rs 50.
Once payment is confirmed, the order for your Aadhaar PVC card will be processed.
UIDAI will print the Aadhaar and hand it over to the Indian Post within five days for delivery to your home via speed post.
Offline Option for Card Creation: If you prefer not to apply online, you can visit an Aadhaar center to have your new Aadhaar card made.
Aadhaar Formats: Currently, Aadhaar cards are available in three formats: Aadhaar Letter, e-Aadhaar, and PVC card, with UIDAI emphasizing that commercially available PVC cards are not valid. In October, UIDAI introduced the option to reprint Aadhaar cards on polyvinyl chloride (PVC), offering a wallet-friendly and durable alternative to traditional formats.
