This lineup is expected to feature two models, and the company has already revealed their names. These phones will launch in early September. It is speculated that these will be rebranded versions of the Redmi K100 series models, which are currently available only in China.
POCO F9 Series Global Launch Date
POCO has officially confirmed that the new POCO F9 series will launch globally on September 1 at 8 PM (GMT+8). The company will also live-stream the launch event. Recent reports have consistently mentioned the names POCO F9 Pro and POCO F9 Ultra. Both smartphones have also been spotted on various certification websites, leading to the belief that the company might unveil these two models at the launch event.
According to leaks, the POCO F9 Pro is said to be a rebranded version of the Redmi K100 Pro, while the POCO F9 Ultra is expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi K100 Pro Max. POCO’s teaser for the F9 series is also being linked to these two models. However, the global models may feature some differences in specifications.
The teaser image reveals two colour options for the Poco F9 series: White and Dark Cherry. The Dark Cherry colour option is also available as ‘Cabernet Sauvignon’ in the Redmi K100 series. ‘Sound by Bose’ branding is visible on the back of the phone, indicating that its audio tuning has been done in collaboration with the US-based brand.
POCO F9 Pro Leaked Specifications
According to leaks, the POCO F9 Pro may feature a 6.59-inch AMOLED display. The screen may feature a resolution of 1156×2510 pixels. Gorilla Glass 7i could protect the display. Regarding performance, the phone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It may also launch with 12GB and 16GB RAM variants, along with 256GB and 512GB storage options.
As for the camera setup, the POCO F9 Pro might feature a triple rear camera system. This could include a 200MP main camera with OIS support, a 50MP telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. Meanwhile, a 32MP front camera is expected for selfies and video calls. In terms of battery, the F9 Pro could house a 6,330mAh battery and is expected to support 100W fast charging.
