PNB Scheme: Big news for PNB customers. In celebration of Digital India Day, Punjab National Bank (PNB), a prominent public sector bank in India, has restated its dedication to advancing financial inclusion by providing convenient access to formal credit via digital banking solutions.
PNB has introduced user-friendly digital loan options such as PNB Shramik Sathi and PM e-SVANidhi, aimed at empowering frontline workers, community service providers, and street vendors with easily accessible, cost-effective, and digitally enhanced loans.
What is PNB Shramik Sathi Scheme?
PNB Shramik Sathi is a specialized personal loan scheme tailored for community and frontline workers employed in government departments or government-backed organizations. It caters to the financial needs of various essential service providers like Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, sanitation workers, mid-day meal cooks, and forest personnel. Eligible individuals can access loans ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 1 lakh without requiring collateral to fulfill their personal financial requirements. This includes no processing fees and a repayment period of up to 36 months.

What are the advantages?
Continuing its efforts in promoting financial inclusion, PNB actively endorses the PM e-SVANidhi scheme. This initiative encourages digital transactions through UPI-based credit facilities and offers collateral-free working capital loans to street vendors. The scheme provides incremental loan amounts from Rs 5,000 to Rs 50,000, with vendors accessing higher loan limits by adhering to timely repayments.
With no margin and processing fee on qualifying loan amounts, this endeavor facilitates vendors in formalizing their businesses, embracing digital payments, and achieving sustainable financial stability. During the event, Debashish Ganguly, General Manager of the Digital Banking Transformation Division at PNB, emphasized that Digital India is not solely about technology but about making financial services more accessible, inclusive, and empowering for all citizens. PNB is committed to leveraging digital banking to bridge the financial divide and extend formal credit to communities crucial to India’s progress.
Through initiatives like ‘PNB Shramik Sathi’ and ‘PM e-SVANidhi’, PNB is enhancing financial inclusion, aligning with the country’s aim of creating a digitally empowered society. As India observes Digital India Day, PNB reaffirms its dedication to fostering inclusive growth through digital advancements. The bank ensures that every individual, from frontline workers to small business owners, has access to formal financial services that support their goals and contribute to India’s economic development.
