PM-UDAY Scheme: Big news for PM-UDAY scheme beneficiary. Especially Great news for millions of residents living in unauthorized colonies throughout Delhi! The Delhi government and concerned authorities are looking at pushing back the application deadline for the PM-Uday scheme, which helps people gain official property ownership rights in unauthorized colonies. Based on a notice shared by the Revenue Department, applications were originally due by October 31st.

Deadlines may get extended if applications come in slowly

An earlier announcement from the Revenue Department made it clear that no property deeds or permission letters would be processed for applications arriving after October 31st. Yet, even with various rule changes and fee reductions, the number of applications submitted in recent months hasn’t reached expected levels, prompting officials to consider extending the deadline. An updated announcement with the new date should be coming soon.

What exactly is PM-Uday Yojana?

The PM-UDAY scheme was created to grant legal ownership rights to roughly 4 million individuals residing in unauthorized colonies. It applies to 1,511 unauthorized colonies across Delhi. Following rule modifications, the central government gave the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) the job of running the entire program.

Big savings on application fees

To make it simpler for Delhi residents to secure ownership rights, the government has rolled out several important rule updates. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has eliminated numerous fees that were previously charged for regularization. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has also cut its fees substantially, letting property owners save money by paying just 25% of the standard fee.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has also clarified that properties in these colonies are being regularized without approved layout plans. Officials believe that extending the application deadline will allow more people to take advantage of this scheme and legalize their properties.
