PM Kisan Yojana: Millions of farmers all over the nation are eagerly anticipating their payments through the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) program. This initiative provides eligible farmers with a yearly financial aid of Rs 6,000, distributed directly to their bank accounts in three installments of Rs 2,000 each.
However, mere enrollment in PM-KISAN is not sufficient. Farmers must fulfill specific requirements to receive their payments. The government has outlined three essential criteria: land-seeding, linking Aadhaar with bank accounts, and completing e-KYC. Failure to meet these conditions could lead to delays in receiving the installments.
1. Failure to seed land
Incomplete land-seeding is a primary reason for delayed payments. Accurate land information must be recorded and verified in the PM-KISAN database. If there are discrepancies in land records or incomplete data, the farmer’s payment may be impacted. Land-seeding is crucial for accessing PM-KISAN benefits.
2. Aadhaar-bank account linkage
Another common issue causing delays is the absence of Aadhaar-bank account linkage. PM-KISAN funds are transferred to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts via DBT. Failure to link the bank account with Aadhaar can result in payment delays. The government reported pending Aadhaar seeding for over 3 million farmers, with a significant number from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
3. Incomplete e-KYC
Non-completion of e-KYC is a significant factor leading to delayed payments. Farmers are required to undergo e-KYC to receive PM-KISAN benefits. This process can be completed online through OTP verification on the PM-KISAN website. If facing challenges with e-KYC, farmers can seek assistance from nearby CSC centers.
The government revealed that payments to a substantial number of beneficiaries were affected due to non-compliance with these requirements. Merely registering for PM-KISAN is insufficient; farmers must maintain accurate records and fulfill necessary verifications.
To check the status of your installment, verify payment details on the official PM-KISAN portal under the “Know Your Status” section. Ensure that e-KYC, Aadhaar-bank linking, and land-seeding processes are completed promptly to avoid future payment issues.
