PM Awas Yojana: Food, clothing, and shelter are the most fundamental needs of every individual. While one can fulfil the first two needs through manual labour, building or purchasing a home requires a significant amount of money—often an amount beyond the reach of even middle-class families. Keeping this in mind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘PM Awas Yojana-Gramin’ (Rural), his most ambitious scheme aimed at providing housing for all.
The primary objective of this government scheme is to provide a permanent roof over the heads of all citizens; however, the benefits are available specifically to those who apply for a home under the PM Awas Yojana. Millions of people in the country still miss out on the scheme’s benefits due to a lack of information. With this goal in mind, we have compiled details about the scheme and explained how one can avail of its benefits.

To check your name under the PM Awas Scheme, beneficiaries must visit the scheme’s official website. Navigate to the ‘Search Beneficiary’ tab located in the top menu.
