In 'Panchayat Season 4', Neena Gupta and Sunita Rajwar have brought life to the strong characters of Manju Devi and Kranti Devi.
Recently, both these wonderful actresses spoke to the media, and their conversation was not just limited to the series, but they also spoke openly about real life politics! Let's know what these amazing actresses said:
"Politics is not my cup of tea," said Neena Gupta
When we asked Neena Gupta if she is interested in politics or if she wants to bring about a change in the country, she told a shocking story. "A few months ago I went to cast my vote in Juhu.
I had decided which party to vote for, but that party was in an alliance and its symbol (election symbol) had changed. I did not even realize it and I voted for someone else! The same thing happened with my staff."
With this experience, she emphasized the lack of information in election campaigning. Neena Gupta further said, "Going inside, I was wondering whose symbol is this? I had not even thought of this.
Clear information is not given in campaigning. There are a lot of vested interests. Anyway, I prefer to stay away from politics."
"I am annoyed by the word politics," Sunita Rajwar's candid style
Sunita Rajwar immediately agreed with Neena Gupta. She said that she does not understand politics at all. She even said that she is annoyed by the word 'politics'.
To be honest, when I listen to a leader, he seems right. Then when I listen to another leader, he also seems right. But then it seems that there is something wrong with both. That's why I don't understand whom to trust. Politics is everywhere and I find it very dirty."
What if we become politicians for a day...?
Even though both the actresses have kept a distance from politics, but when they were asked that if they get a chance to take over the power of the country for a day, what changes would they like to bring?
Neena Gupta focuses on unemployment: "If we want to bring real and big change in our country, then first of all we have to focus on employment. When the youth get work, they will become self-reliant, earn and take the society in a better direction. This will also reduce crime and the country will start changing automatically."
Sunita Rajwar emphasized on improving the condition of the village: "There are no hospitals, no schools, no cleanliness in the villages. People come to the city and many times die on the way.
The thinking that the cities which are considered dirty, the villagers find them 'better', has to be changed. If I get a chance, I will try to provide medical and education facilities to every village."
