The Union Minister has made it clear that the appointment of the Chairman and Members of the Commission will be done only after the notification.
The minister has said that the notification will be issued at the appropriate time' and the appointments will be made after that.
The government had approved the formation of the 8th Pay Commission in January 2025.
The commission will review the salary and pension structure of central government employees and pensioners.
The salary revision for government employees is expected to take effect from January 1, 2026.
However, its formal announcement may take 1.5 to 2 years.
