Oppo Reno 17 Series: So if you’re waiting for Oppo’s next Reno phone, you kind of have to just hold on a bit longer. The Oppo Reno 17 series still hasn’t shown up anywhere publicly, and Oppo isn’t being very direct about an India launch date. Right now, what we have is basically what reports are claiming, so yeah… take it like you would with a rumour, not like it’s written in stone.

India launch date

Reports suggest the Reno 17 series should first arrive in China around November 2026, likely running ColorOS 17 on top of Android 17. Thereafter, India is being tipped for early January 2027. Furthermore, the Reno 17 has appeared on the BIS certification website under model number CPH2975, which usually means things are moving along, bit by bit. That said, Oppo hasn’t confirmed anything officially, so January feels more like ‘maybe’ than ‘yes’ for sure.

There’s also a price-listing-type site that mentions June 2027, but it calls its dates tentative. And honestly, it doesn’t match the other timelines, so it’s hard to treat it as the main version.

Which models are coming?

According to the reports, India might get the standard Oppo Reno 17 and the Reno 17c only. The Reno 17 Pro may skip the country completely, and that sounds like what happened with the Reno 16 Pro, where it also didn’t land in India. Oppo hasn’t announced any of these details, though, so at the moment it’s more of a “likely scenario” than a confirmed plan.

Expected specs

For the Oppo Reno 17, the rumour points to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. For the Reno 17c, it’s said to use the Dimensity 7300. One report even throws in details like a 144Hz display and a triple 50MP camera setup, but that part is not locked in, so treat it as unverified and not as a factual spec.

And for the Reno 17 Pro, which may stay China-only, the tip is a MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super chip. Camera-wise, it’s said to feature a 200MP main camera and a periscope telephoto lens. The display is expected to be a 6.32-inch 1.5K panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate, plus talk of a 7,000 mAh battery too.

Expected price

Oppo hasn’t shared pricing yet. One report, based on a Smartprix “exclusive”, expects the Reno 17 to be priced somewhere between ₹60,000 and ₹70,000. But another website lists an expected price of ₹50,999. Those two figures are quite far apart, so it’s best to hold off on budgeting until we have an official update.

Should you wait?

If you’re planning to buy a Reno phone, the waiting time might not be too long. But if you specifically want the Pro model, you may end up importing it or switching to another brand instead. Keep an eye on Oppo’s official website, especially as the January window gets nearer, and you’ll quickly see what’s real and what’s just talk.
