Nissan Tekton SUV Spotted with ADAS Radar, 7-Seater Family SUV Arriving in 2027

Nissan Tekton 7-Seater SUV: The demand for 7-seater models in the Indian SUV market is steadily rising, and Nissan is preparing to strengthen its foothold in this segment. The company’s upcoming 7-seater SUV was recently spotted undergoing road tests in India. New spy shots have revealed several details regarding the SUV’s design and features.

Set to launch in 2027, this SUV is expected to offer increased cabin space, a redesigned rear, and advanced ADAS features. While it is built on the architecture of the existing Tekton, Nissan has implemented significant changes rather than simply stretching the rear to create a larger vehicle; the rear overhang has been extended to accommodate the third row, and the exterior design has also undergone modifications. Let’s take a closer look at the details.

Larger Body and More Cabin Space

The new Nissan 7-seater SUV is expected to have the most significant change in the rear section. Reports suggest the wheelbase will be around 2,657 mm—very close to that of the five-seater Tekton—though the rear overhang has been lengthened to accommodate the third row. To give the SUV a more commanding road presence, Nissan has also fitted it with 18-inch alloy wheels.

Front Design

The front design of the new 7-seater SUV shares several elements with the Tekton. It features the same inverted L-shaped LED DRLs that give Nissan’s new SUVs a distinctive identity. However, the front bumper has been modified to include vertical design elements at both ends.

The test model also features connected LED tail lights, distinguishing it visually from the five-seater version. Additionally, the number plate has been repositioned lower down on the bumper.

Front Bumper

One of the most interesting details revealed in the spy shots of the new Nissan 7-seater SUV is the presence of two millimetre-wave radar sensors on the front bumper. If the production version includes these sensors, the SUV will feature a more advanced ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System).

Details have already emerged regarding the existing five-seater Tekton offering over 17 ADAS functions. These include features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind-spot warning, and traffic sign recognition.

163 PS Turbo Engine

Regarding the engine, Nissan has not yet officially disclosed details for the new 7-seater SUV. However, it is highly likely to feature a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine. This engine could deliver approximately 163 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque.

Transmission options are expected to include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed wet DCT. This combination could strike a fine balance between performance and everyday usability for the SUV.

Launch in 2027

Nissan has already announced plans to include a three-row SUV in its product strategy for India. Consequently, this new model is likely to launch in 2027. The company has also confirmed that this SUV will not merely be a stretched version of the five-seater Tekton.
