Following the declaration of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2026 results, lakhs of medical aspirants across the country are eagerly awaiting the commencement of the counselling process. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is set to launch the counselling process on its official website, mcc.nic.in, soon.
According to reports, NEET UG 2026 counselling is likely to begin on August 7, 2026. The detailed counselling schedule may be released on July 31 or during the first week of August. Subsequently, candidates will be able to complete the processes of online registration, choice filling (selecting colleges and courses), and choice locking.
How the Counselling Process Will Work
Once counselling begins, candidates must first complete online registration. Following this, they will need to select their preferred medical colleges and courses (choice filling). Seat allotment will be based on NEET UG ranks, candidate preferences, and seat availability. Candidates who accept their allotted seats must report to the respective college for document verification and fee payment.
