Monsoon Update: People across most states are finally seeing some relief from the scorching heat. Regarding the weather in Delhi-NCR, the sky has remained cloudy since this morning, though humid heat continues to make life uncomfortable. According to the Meteorological Department, alerts for heavy rain and storms have been issued for 19 states, including UP and Bihar, for July 2. A fresh bulletin states that as of July 1, the Southwest Monsoon has advanced further into the North Arabian Sea, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and parts of Uttar Pradesh; the remaining areas of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Ladakh; the entirety of Jammu & Kashmir; and parts of Haryana and Punjab. Over the next two days, the monsoon is expected to advance further into the North Arabian Sea, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, parts of Punjab, and parts of Rajasthan. States in Eastern India are likely to witness heavy rainfall and storms. Therefore, if you are planning a trip in July, it is advisable to check the weather forecast beforehand.
