Maruti Fronx Facelift: The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is already a popular SUV in the Indian market. Now, the company is working on a facelift version to make it even better. The Maruti Fronx facelift is expected to bring significant changes regarding the engine, safety, comfort, and exterior design. Level 2 ADAS and a new Z-Series engine could be the highlights of this new SUV. Let’s take a look at the full details.

New Z-Series Petrol Engine

The Fronx facelift is expected to bring one of the most significant changes to its engine lineup. The company might introduce a new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine. In the petrol version, this engine is expected to deliver an output of approximately 81 bhp and 112 Nm of torque, while the CNG version could offer around 67 bhp of power and 101 Nm of torque.

A key highlight of this engine could be its fuel efficiency. It is expected to deliver a mileage of around 23.80 kmpl with the manual gearbox and approximately 24.77 kmpl with the AMT. A CNG-AMT combination might also be introduced later, making it a major addition to Maruti Suzuki’s CNG lineup.

Ventilated Seats

The new Fronx is also likely to enhance cabin comfort. The facelift model is expected to feature ventilated front seats—a feature Maruti Suzuki has already introduced in the updated Baleno. Ventilated seats can help reduce heat discomfort during long drives.

Enhanced Safety

A Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) could also be added to the Fronx facelift. While TPMS does not alter the car’s exterior appearance, it is highly beneficial for driving safety. Maintaining the correct tyre pressure also helps improve handling and extends tyre life. Its variant-wise availability has not yet been confirmed.

Level 2 ADAS

The most significant update in the new Fronx could be the inclusion of Level 2 ADAS for safety. This system may offer features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and Lane Departure Warning. Additionally, the Fronx facelift is likely to include features like blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

Level 2 ADAS has been introduced in the top-spec Alpha (O) variant of the updated Baleno; therefore, it is expected to be offered with a top variant of the Fronx facelift as well. However, the final feature list and variant details will only be confirmed at the time of launch.

Exterior Design

Regarding its design, the facelift will bring changes to the Fronx’s exterior. The front profile will see the most significant updates.

Certain elements of the Boosterjet version might feature red detailing. The current silver garnish is expected to be replaced by a gunmetal grey connecting element, potentially giving the front a sportier and more premium look.

The front bumper may also receive a new design. It is expected to feature a more aggressive silver skid plate, while the design of the lower air intake is likely to remain largely similar to the current model.

At the rear, the connected LED tail lamps may remain unchanged, though modifications to the bumper are anticipated. The Fronx’s overall coupe-SUV silhouette is also expected to be retained.

Launch and Price

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx facelift is expected to be unveiled in the coming months and is likely to reach Indian showrooms by early 2027. As for pricing, the cost of the lower variants is expected to remain close to that of the current model. However, the top variants could see a price hike of around ₹1 lakh due to the inclusion of additional features and safety equipment.
