LPG Price: Big news for LPG consumers. Today’s LPG prices have not changed since the reduction in rates for commercial cylinders on August 1st. There has been no adjustment in the price of LPG cylinders as of August 30th. The question now is whether there will be any changes in prices on September 1st.

Commercial cylinder prices decreased twice

On August 1st, oil marketing companies lowered the prices of commercial cylinders by a maximum of Rs 209, marking the second consecutive month of reductions. In July, the price of commercial cylinders dropped by Rs 179. However, the cost of a 14.2 kg domestic cylinder remained the same during that period. It is important to note that the recent reductions in prices are much smaller compared to the earlier increase in commercial cylinder prices this year.

Government directives to oil marketing companies

The government has issued directives this month to oil refinery firms regarding LPG production. Initially, the central government had instructed domestic companies to ramp up LPG production shortly after the conflict started. Before the conflict, India relied heavily on imports from Qatar and other Arab countries. However, with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz due to the conflict, LPG imports have ceased, posing a significant challenge for India. Currently, India is supplementing domestic production with LPG imports from countries like the United States.

Current domestic cylinder prices

The price of a domestic cylinder today is Rs 941.50 in Mumbai, Rs 968 in Kolkata, Rs 957.50 in Chennai, Rs 950.50 in Gurugram, Rs 939.50 in Noida, and Rs 968 in Bhubaneshwar. In Chandigarh, the price is Rs 951.50, in Hyderabad Rs 994, in Jaipur Rs 979.50, and in Patna Rs 1031.50 for a 14.2 kg domestic cylinder.
