Why should coconut be kept in the right way?

Experts say that open coconut should be kept in the fridge only, because its self life is very short. Unopened coconut can be kept at room temperature for months. Peeled coconut should be kept in an airtight container in a ziplock bag and kept in the refrigerator. By doing this, you can use it for 3 to 5 days.
