Chaiti Chhath Puja 2025 Begins Today: Bihar’s popular folk festival Chaiti Chhath has started from today. Starting from April 1, it will continue till April 4. The first day of this festival is known as Nahai Khay, the second day Kharna, the third day Sandhya Arghya and the fourth day Usha Arghya. On the first day of Chhath festival, the devotees make arwa rice bhaat, pumpkin vegetable and gram dal on the stove with mango wood.
Chaiti Chhath Puja Kharna
Kharna takes place in the evening on the second day. On this day, the devotees observe Nirjala fast throughout the day. Then in the evening, after bathing and meditating, milk-rice kheer is made. Then after consuming this prasad, the Nirjala fast of 36 hours begins. On the third day of Chhath festival, the devotees offer arghya to the setting sun and on the fourth day, the Chhath festival ends by offering arghya to the rising sun. Chaiti Chhath Puja Vidhi
1 April 2025, Nahai Khay- The first day of Chhath festival is Nahai Khay, on this day the devotees eat satvik food like pumpkin vegetable and rice.
2 April 2025, Kharna Puja- The second day of Chhath festival is Kharna. On this day, the devotees make prasad of jaggery and rice pudding in the evening and offer it to Chhathi Maiya and then after consuming this prasad, they start their 36-hour Nirjala fast.
3 April 2025, Sandhya Arghya Time- The third day of Chhath festival is Sandhya Arghya. On this day, the devotees offer arghya to the setting sun on the banks of a river or pond.
4 April 2025, Usha Arghya Time- The fourth day of Chhath festival is Usha Arghya. On this day, the devotees go to the banks of a river or pond and complete their fast by offering arghya to the rising sun.
